   Search For Safety is a book by John Langan published June 5, 2006. Search For Safety is about a boy named Ben McKee who goes to Bluford High School. His mom just got married to a man named Larry. Larry hates his stepson and all he does is drink while he's around and he beats up his stepson Larry and he beats up his wife. The mom doesn't do nothing about it even though Ben thinks his mom should get a divorce even his aunt doesn't like Larry even though she doesn't know that Larry hits them. Will Ben be able to survive with his step dad Larry hitting him and his mom all the time or will Ben's aunt step in and save him.
   This is another book that will motivate readers who don't like to read. This book will motivate people to read. This book is filled with a lot of child abuse but this book also teaches you when to speak up when something is happening outside of school. Darrell Mercer now goes to a new school called Bluford High School and he's being bullied. Darrell Mercer bully is named Tyray Hobbs and he's being picked everyday by him. Darrell Mercer is even paying money to the bully just so he can stop picking on him. Will Darrell Mercer tell someone that he's getting picked on or will he fight back?
